6/25/2005 back to counties
At Iuka (phonetically Eye-OO-ka, with the OO, as in moon; Tishomingo county),
we saw a former student, now on the fast track with an Iuka accounting
firm. It was good to catch up with him. He gave us a quick history lesson
about the area and pointed us to both the historical courthouse, now a
museum, and the working courthouse. As early as the Choctaw chief, Chief
Iuka, the local springs were thought to have healing qualities.
The first two pictures have roll-over effects,
so they take a little longer to download.
